1. Institutional Separation

  1. UGL and UEF remain distinct. Cooperation does not create automatic ownership, control or exclusivity.

2. Standards Interface

  1. UGL may adopt or recognize UEF standards as baselines. Professional competition may exceed a baseline but should not fall below it without documented professional-level justification.

3. Research Independence

  1. Research must be capable of producing an inconvenient answer. Funding, sponsorship or executive preference may not dictate methods or conclusions.

4. Participant Protection

  1. Research involving people should use appropriate consent, ethics, privacy, safeguarding and risk controls.

5. Data Firewall

  1. Research data may not quietly become scouting, employment, marketing or disciplinary data. Any cross-use requires a lawful and ethically justified basis.

6. Standards Development

  1. Research findings may inform standards, but standards should distinguish evidence, professional judgment, policy choice and operational constraint.

7. UGL as Research Site

  1. UGL competition, rulesets and event systems are legitimate research subjects. UGL retains Sporting authority while research retains methodological independence.

8. Development Pathway

  1. UEF may provide a primary structured pathway into UGL while remaining non-exclusive and without owning athlete rights.
