1. Institutional Separation
- UGL and UEF remain distinct. Cooperation does not create automatic ownership, control or exclusivity.
2. Standards Interface
- UGL may adopt or recognize UEF standards as baselines. Professional competition may exceed a baseline but should not fall below it without documented professional-level justification.
3. Research Independence
- Research must be capable of producing an inconvenient answer. Funding, sponsorship or executive preference may not dictate methods or conclusions.
4. Participant Protection
- Research involving people should use appropriate consent, ethics, privacy, safeguarding and risk controls.
5. Data Firewall
- Research data may not quietly become scouting, employment, marketing or disciplinary data. Any cross-use requires a lawful and ethically justified basis.
6. Standards Development
- Research findings may inform standards, but standards should distinguish evidence, professional judgment, policy choice and operational constraint.
7. UGL as Research Site
- UGL competition, rulesets and event systems are legitimate research subjects. UGL retains Sporting authority while research retains methodological independence.
8. Development Pathway
- UEF may provide a primary structured pathway into UGL while remaining non-exclusive and without owning athlete rights.
